The musicians in Acuri recognize that music is like the wind and like the
sun, it is part of he spirit that encompasses all of us. They work
tirelessly to perfect their craft because it is their obligation. They
respect the ancestors that came before them who were poor, were slaves and
yet were an integral part of creating music that spread throughout the
entire world.
An instrumental quintet, Acuri intends to
show the richness of the Brazilian styles through a contemporary and
universal approach. With complex harmonies, intricate rhythms and
beautiful melodies, the group shows pieces full of different colors with
no boundaries separating folk and modern, classical and popular, using all
kinds of influences to shape its rich sound, following a great tradition
of Brazilian musicians like Hermeto Pascoal, Radamés Gnatalli, Itiberê
Zwarg, Egberto Gismonti and Heitor Villa Lobos.
